England are in the driving seat ahead of the third day of the Rothesay Test against Pakistan following a dominant first two days at Edgbaston Stadium.

Joe Root’s men hold a 268-run lead after rain brought a premature end to day two at Edgbaston, with Pakistan currently 52/2 and with a fight on their hands to avoid an innings defeat and a 3-0 whitewash.

The on-field action isn’t the only thing to look forward to on Friday, with sustainability taking centre stage as Edgbaston hosts its annual Go Green Game, encouraging fans, partners and the wider cricket community to play their part in creating a greener future for the sport.

This year's campaign is themed Playing for the Future, highlighting the growing impact climate change is having on cricket around the world and the importance of collective action to protect the game for future generations. From extreme weather and rising temperatures to disrupted playing schedules and changing conditions, climate change poses increasing challenges for sport.

Through the Go Green Game, Edgbaston will shine a spotlight on the practical steps already being taken across the venue to reduce its environmental impact and support a more sustainable future. Throughout the day, supporters will be able to discover a range of sustainability initiatives operating at Edgbaston, including:

Smart energy management through Lightwave technology
New food waste recycling facilities across the venue
Reusable e-cups helping reduce plastic waste
Free water refill stations for spectators bringing reusable bottles
Electric grounds maintenance equipment, including Dennis Mowers

Enhanced public transport options to encourage greener travel

A bumper sold out crowd is set to take in the action on day three and spectators can enjoy the action safe in the knowledge that varying degrees of refunds will be available should play be restricted.

Spectators are reminded that should Pakistan’s innings end before 27.5 overs have been bowled in total, attendees will be entitled to a full refund. If play finishes before the innings reaches 42.5 overs, then a 50% refund will be issued. Anything beyond 43 overs on Friday will be treated as a full day’s play and therefore no refund will be issued. Ticket T&Cs.

If play finishes on Friday, tickets for day four and day five will be refunded.

Spectators do not need to do anything. Refunds will be processed automatically and returned to the original payment card used to make the booking. No booking fees will be refunded.
