Safeguarding
Everyone involved in cricket has a duty to ensure the safety and welfare of any child or adult at risk in the sport.
We are committed to ensuring that everyone participating in cricket with us does so in a safe, friendly, secure, and enjoyable environment. Whether you’re a player, coach, official, administrator, staff member, volunteer, spectator, parent, or carer, we all have a role to play. We have adopted the ECB’s Safe Hands Policy and Guidance. You can read Warwickshire’s Safeguarding Children, Young People, and Adults Policy here.
For any safeguarding queries, please contact us via the email address above or submit the form at the bottom of the page.
Alternatively, you can contact the ECB Safeguarding Team directly here.

FAQs
If I have a safeguarding concern at my club – who should I contact?
Each club will have a dedicated Club Safeguarding Officer (CSO) and this person will be your first point of contact.
You can also contact Thomas Cunningham-Smith, Warwickshire CCC’s Safeguarding Manager at
What is a safeguarding concern?
A safeguarding issue or concern is anything that might impact on children and young people’ safety and welfare, cause them harm, or put them at risk of harm. Sometimes, a child or young person might tell someone about (or disclose) abuse or neglect. You might also notice signs of abuse or see something that worries you. Safeguarding issues or concerns also include things that can increase the risk of harm – for example, not following safer recruitment practices, having inadequate supervision or not carrying out proper risk assessment for online and offline activities.
If you think a child is in immediate danger, contact the police on 999. If you’re worried about a child but they are not in immediate danger, you should share your concerns.
What qualifications do I need to be a Club Safeguarding Officer at my local club?
You will need to attend a Safe Hands training course run by your local County Cricket Club, a valid and up to date DBS and complete the relevant online training courses.
For further details please contact Thomas Cunningham-Smith, Warwickshire CCC Safeguarding Manager.
