Webster considers Edgbaston ‘second home’ as he returns to Australia following second spell with Club
Beau Webster returns to Australia after another outstanding spell with Warwickshire County Cricket Club, a place that he describes as his ‘second home’.
The Australian produced several standout moments during his second stint with the Club, particularly in the Vitality Blast, where he amassed 578 runs across 12 matches at an average of 48.16.
Webster struck a maiden T20 century against Somerset (112), and also registered scores of 97, 79, 78, 64 and 60 in the Blast, and departs the Club as the leading run-scorer in the competition at the conclusion of the group stages.
“I love it,” he said. “It's my second year here and it's been really enjoyable.
“I loved it last year and then to come back again when you know all the guys and all the staff, it makes it a hell of a lot easier. Just to get back into the swing of things, it's a good fun club to play at.
“I've got a lot of really good mates here now and consider it a bit of a second home away from Tassie [Tasmania]. I love it and hope to be back in the future, for sure.”
Webster was presented with the ‘White Bear’, also known as the full county cap, during the team’s win against Worcestershire last month, with the cap recognising his role as an established player within the First Team ranks.
Having returned to the Bears after impressing in 2025, Webster said that it was a proud moment in his career to date to be recognised by the Club.
“It was a massive moment,” he added. “To deem me worthy of one is a huge moment in my career.
“I know how high they regard it here at Warwickshire, and after two years to be able to get one it was a great feeling. I had my wife there as well which was excellent and I hope I can put it on my head at some stage in the future.
“I’ll have to come back and play some more red ball cricket! It was a great gesture and I'm really proud of it.”
In his final game before returning to Australia, where he will target a spot in his country’s Test side, Webster captained the Bears to victory against Northants in the absence of Club captain Ed Barnard.
Webster is confident the Bears have a chance at silverware in both the Rothesay County Championship and Metro Bank One Day Cup and will be watching from afar as the season progresses.
“We've got a great group of players here that are growing in confidence, with some excellent youngsters, followed by some awesome seniors,” Webster said.
“Against Northants we saw Kai [Smith] and Sam [Hain], two guys at the opposite ends of their career, get us the win, which was great to see.
“I’ll down tools for about a week or two now and have a little holiday and then we're back into some Test cricket in August in Australia followed by a pretty hectic home summer. Hopefully I can continue this form and roll it into that.”
