Last outing
Warwickshire came out on the wrong side of a low-scoring thriller on Friday against Leicestershire, with the Foxes winning by three wickets.
The Bears got off to a sluggish start with three single figure departures in the top five, but a middle order fightback led by Kai Smith (57) saw them post 220 on a wicket that offered a lot for the bowlers.
Warwickshire’s bowling attack made the most of that wicket early doors, dismissing the top three for a combined score of five, but Nick Kelly’s excellent 86 put the Foxes on the path to victory and despite skipper Rob Yates getting the Kiwi caught and bowled, the lower order completed the job with 2.5 overs to spare.
Previous meeting
The Bears won by five wickets in the last List A meeting between the sides, which took place in Liverpool in 2025. Bowling first, the Bears restricted Lancs to 249/9, with Taz Ali taking 3/39 from his ten overs.
In reply, the Bears impressively reached their target in less than 40 overs, as Hamza Shaikh’s 75 from 94 led them to victory having lost only five wickets.
Bear to Watch
Olly Hannon-Dalby impressed with the ball in Friday’s defeat against Leicestershire, taking three wickets for just 27 runs from his ten overs. The veteran seamer has 11 wickets to his name in his last four outings, including five against Surrey at Edgbaston, and will be on the hunt for more scalps at Rugby.
