Jonathan Finch appointed General Manager – Player Pathways & Recruitment at Warwickshire County Cricket Club
Warwickshire County Cricket Club has appointed Jonathan Finch as its new General Manager – Player Pathways & Recruitment, strengthening the Club’s long‑term commitment to developing and attracting the best cricketing talent across the county and beyond.
Finch joins Warwickshire following more than twenty years with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), where he held several senior leadership roles across talent development, coach development and high‑performance cricket. Most recently, he served as Director of England Women’s Cricket, overseeing the national performance pathway and playing a pivotal role in the continued growth and success of the women’s game.
Across his career, Finch has built a strong reputation for creating high‑performing environments, identifying and nurturing talent, and leading strategic change. In his new role at Warwickshire, he will lead the Club’s player pathway, talent identification and recruitment strategy, strengthening the connection between the Academy, professional squads and future squad planning.
James Thomas, Performance Director at Warwickshire CCC, said: “Jonathan brings significant cricket expertise and experience to the Club, alongside a real passion for identifying and developing talent. He has an excellent understanding of the player pathway, what it takes to identify and develop talent, and how best to support players through the key transitions into professional cricket. I’m delighted to welcome Jonathan to Warwickshire and have no doubt he will add significant value to our pathways, our players and our club‑wide approach to recruitment.”
Jonathan Finch said: “This is a really exciting time to join Warwickshire as they evolve the high‑performance support across the club. Aligning the player development and recruitment strategies across all teams is an incredibly exciting opportunity and will be fundamental in achieving success on the pitch across all teams and all formats. Warwickshire is such a hot bed of cricket talent and I can’t wait to work with everyone involved to develop and attract the best talent from within the county and beyond.”
