England take control at Edgbaston
England took a firm grip on the third Test at Edgbaston after another difficult day for Pakistan, with 14 wickets falling on an eventful opening day in Birmingham.

After winning the toss and choosing to bowl, England made full use of the conditions to dismiss Pakistan for just 133. Josh Tongue led the attack with four wickets, while Ollie Robinson and Jofra Archer claimed three apiece. Robinson also reached the milestone of 100 Test wickets during an impressive spell.
Pakistan handed an opportunity to 21-year-old Razaullah, and the newcomer provided one of their brighter moments by removing Joe Root early in his Test career. He finished with two wickets as Pakistan attempted to fight their way back into the contest.
England had a few problems of their own with the bat, but Emilio Gay and Harry Brook shifted the momentum decisively in the hosts' favour. Gay struck nine boundaries in a composed 60, combining with Brook for a crucial 105-run partnership before being bowled late in the day.
Brook remained unbeaten on 52 at the close as England reached 156 for four, giving them a 23-run first-innings advantage with six wickets still in hand.
With England already 2-0 ahead in the series, they head into day two at Edgbaston in a commanding position as they look to complete a clean sweep.
