It is the second year running that the Edgbaston team have won the award.
Specialist events and hospitality teams from more than 70 football, rugby, cricket and athletics venues across the UK came together to recognise and celebrate their ‘off the pitch’ successes. The 19th annual awards were hosted at Hill Dickinson Stadium, the new home of Everton FC.
The award was presented following a live theatre chef competition held at Xcelerate with Edgbaston, with teams given 90 minutes to prepare, cook and present a three-course menu. Served anonymously and judged by The British Culinary Federation, Edgbaston Stadium was recognised as the leading team, beating Liverpool Football Club and West Bromwich Albion Football Club to the top prize.
There was additional reason to celebrate for Edgbaston, with the Catering & Events team winning bronze in the Non-Matchday Sales & Marketing Team of Year category.
Recognising the very best non-matchday sales and marketing team in UK stadium venues, Edgbaston’s Catering & Events team demonstrated strategies for growth, new ideas for unique and different events and creative use of their spaces.
