Bethell named in England squad for Metro Bank ODI series

Warwickshire’s Jacob Bethell and Birmingham Phoenix’s Rehan Ahmed and Saqib Mahmood have been named in England’s 16-player squad for this month’s Metro Bank ODI Series against India.

They are joined in the squad by uncapped Sussex all-rounder James Coles and Josh Tongue, who is yet to make his ODI debut. Fellow quicks Gus Atkinson and Saqib Mahmood return to the squad.

Bethell will have the opportunity to play in front of his home crowd at Edgbaston, with the three-match series beginning at The People’s Home of Cricket on Tuesday 14 July before matches at Sophia Gardens and Lord’s.
