Edgbaston Ballot entries surpass 100,000

A record-breaking 100,000 people have entered the Edgbaston Ballot to be in with a chance of securing Major Match Day tickets for 2027, which includes the 3rd Rothesay Men’s Ashes Test against Australia.

The Ballot, which opened on Wednesday 2 September and saw over 50,000 applications within the first 24 hours, has now passed 100,000 in the space of a week.

Fans still have three weeks remaining to enter the Ballot before it closes at midnight on Tuesday 29 September, with Ballot winners contacted the following day. Enter now.

Those successful will have the opportunity to purchase tickets for one of the four Major Match Days taking place at Edgbaston next year, including the 3rd Rothesay Ashes Men’s Test (8-12 July), Vitality Blast T20 Finals Day (17 July), the 3rd Metro Bank Ashes Women’s ODI (20 July) and the 1st Metro Bank Men’s ODI v New Zealand (14 September).

Head of Ticketing, Hospitality and Membership at Edgbaston Stadium, Gareth Howells, said: “We have seen unprecedented levels of interest for next year’s Ballot and it is brilliant to see how many people want to come and watch cricket at Edgbaston.

“With demand expected to be incredibly high, we would encourage all fans to enter the Ballot to give themselves the best chance of securing tickets.

"Edgbaston has become synonymous with memorable Ashes moments, such as that incredible Test in 2005 and the opening Test of the series in 2023 that went down to the wire.
