Leg-spinner Taz Ali enjoyed a break-out season in 2025 after being in the Warwickshire setup throughout the age groups and having made his Second XI debut at the age of just 14. In the Bears’ Metro Bank One Day Cup victories against Northamptonshire and Kent in 2025, the exciting young talent took back-to-back five-fors. Ali was born in Amsterdam but earned his maiden England Under-19s call-up for the 2024 World Cup, where he took 14 wickets at 9.64 and finished as the side’s highest wicket-taker. He returned to the England Under-19s set-up at the start of 2025 to play in two Tests against South Africa, where he took eight wickets and included match figures of 6-129 in the first Test. In 2026, he continued his development at the Bears by making his T20 debut in the Vitality Blast.
