Warwickshire Youth League wraps up another hugely successful season in 2026
Joe Chapman
The summer 2026 proved to be another major success for youth cricket across the county of Warwickshire.
Warwickshire Cricket Foundation works with clubs from across the region to help ensure environments are created for young cricketers of all ages to develop and hone their abilities.
The Premier Leagues act as the elite level of youth cricket in the county, while the Championship then fills the gap between the Premier and the Standard competitions.
All Premier, Championship, and Standard leagues are 11-a-side traditional cricket, with 20 over games at under 11 and 25-over games at under 13 and under 15. Our Standard leagues are 11-a-side, 20 overs per side for under 12, under 13, under 14, under 15 and under 17.
Almost 1,500 matches were played in the Warwickshire Youth League in 2026, from the under 9s’ softball league all the way through to the under 17s’ T20 format, and 25 different clubs participated in the various finals which represents the diversity of talent in Warwickshire as a whole.
The under 9s hardball competition was claimed by Dorridge, who finished ahead of runners-up Highcroft & Great Barr, while the under 10s’ counterpart league was won by Walmley - Kenilworth Wardens finished runners-up in that age category.
The under 11s’ Premier competition was won by Dorridge, who beat fellow pool winners Walmley in their final and, in the Will George Cup, Division 4 victors Solihull Blossomfield beat Division 6 table-toppers Berkswell in the final.
The under 12 League went to Walmley, who won Group 3 and who beat Coventry & North Warwickshire from Group 2 in the final, while in the under 13s’ category Knowle and Dorridge were victorious in the Premier competition.
In the Championship, Moseley Ashfield were foot perfect throughout their group campaign and beat fellow group winners Corley by two wickets in the final.
The under 14 League final went the way of Pickwick, who edged Knowle and Dorridge in the final by just three runs, while the under 15 Premier winners were Olton and West Warwickshire and the Championship victors were Stratford-upon-Avon.
The under 15 League winners, meanwhile, were Aston Manor, who beat Wellesbourne in the final by 14 runs.
And in the under 17 T20 competition Moseley were comprehensive final winners against Sutton Coldfield.
Anybody who has been involved at any level of cricket in the Warwickshire Youth Leagues across the county is invited to offer feedback via our online form, which can be found by clicking here.
There is also an online meeting scheduled for 7pm on Wednesday 21 October to discuss the feedback and chat about how changes can be implemented ahead of the 2027 season. You can join the chat by clicking here.
