The Hundred: How it works
The Hundred returns this week, with Birmingham Phoenix kick-starting their campaign against Trent Rockets at Edgbaston on Friday 24 July.

Tickets remain available for the blockbuster double-header, which sees Phoenix Women play at 3:00pm before the men play at 6:30pm.

What is it?
Eight city-based teams, created specifically for The Hundred, will compete over five weeks this summer. Each team has a men's and women's squad, with the two competitions running alongside each other.
Competition rules
There are 100 balls per innings and whoever scores the most runs wins. The fielding side change ends after 10 balls, with bowlers delivering either five or ten consecutive balls. The captain decides. Each bowler can deliver a maximum of 20 balls per match.
Each bowling side gets a strategic timeout of up to 90 seconds. The coach can walk out to the middle of the ground and discuss tactics with their players mid-match.
There is a 25-ball powerplay for each team. During this time, two fielders are allowed outside of the initial 30-yard circle during the powerplay.
Points available
Winning teams get four points, while losing teams get zero points.
Sometimes both teams will score the same number of runs. If this is the case, teasms get two points each for a tie.
Teams also get two points each if weather or other circumstances prevent the match from finishing.
