Taylor targeting fourth successive win as Bears Women prepare for Yorkshire test

Mary Taylor says Warwickshire Bears Women are determined to build on their recent momentum as they prepare to face Yorkshire on Sunday, with confidence high after three successive victories in the Vitality Blast.

The Bears entertain Yorkshire as part of another Sunday double-header at Edgbaston Stadium, with the women getting things under way at 10:30am before the men play Gloucestershire at 3:30pm. Tickets are still available.

Bears Women continued their impressive upturn in form with a bonus-point win over Essex on Wednesday to maintain their hopes of reaching Finals Day, and Taylor believes performances across all three facets of the game have been key to the team’s resurgence.

“We got a bonus-point win against Essex, which was really cool,” she said. “We’ve just got to take that into the next game versus Yorkshire and see where it goes.

“It's been unbelievable the last three games. I think we've done all three things right. We've batted well, bowled well and I think we've fielded really well.

“When it all comes together, we play our best cricket and we've all been very energised and ready to kick on to try our best to get to Finals Day."

Taylor, who joined the Bears in the off-season, says the squad's focus remains on sticking to the routines that have served them well throughout their winning streak, and praised the atmosphere within the Bears camp.

“I'm quite calm, so I just try and be as calm as possible because that's where I feel like I am at my best,” she added. “It's just normal preparations for Sunday. We'll have a few team meetings and then we'll be ready to go for it.

“I love the fact that this team has a tenacious sort of vibe. We don't really give up, we keep going, which I think we've proven in the Blast. I'm really excited to continue with that.

“The team are great. It's just a good place to be.”
