Taylor looking for Bears to end Blast campaign with a bang

Millie Taylor is hoping Warwickshire Bears Women can end the Vitality Blast season with a win as they prepare to take on in-form Hampshire at Edgbaston Stadium as part of a huge double-header on Friday.

The Bears entertain top-of-the-table Hampshire in a 3:00pm start at The People’s Home of Cricket and are looking to return to winning ways after back-to-back losses.

Taylor, who was the Blast’s leading wicket-taker in 2025, is looking forward to the Bears putting in a positive performance against a Hampshire side that have already secured their spot in Finals Day.

“I always look forward to playing at Edgbaston,” she said. “I think despite recent results and how our campaign has gone, it’s always a pleasure to walk out at Edgbaston, especially when there’s a double-header.

“It’s tough coming from such a high last year of making the final, but these seasons do happen and we’ve got to let them happen and learn from them.

“I know Hampshire have already qualified for Finals Day, but I’m still expecting them to come hard at us. Just because you qualify doesn’t mean you don’t go out every game and give it your all. Similarly for us, we might’ve missed out on Finals Day but we’ll be giving it everything.”

Taylor, who has taken a wicket in each of the Bears’ last six fixtures in the Blast, was joined at Warwickshire by her twin sister Mary at the start of the year, with the duo both having previously played at this week’s opponents, Hampshire.

The left-arm wrist-spinner has enjoyed being reunited with her sister, and says it’s been enjoyable having her by her side during the season so far.

“It’s been great having her here,” she added. “When she was at Hampshire and I was at Hampshire, I didn’t really play with her. I didn’t see much of her because we had different training schedules.

“I was an academy player and she was a first team player, so I hadn’t actually played together with her for a couple of years before this.

“It’s been really nice to be back on the park with her. It was something you didn’t know you had lost, but then you got it back and it felt great.”
