The 25-year-old has now scored an incredible 2,229 runs in 68 innings at an average of 39.80, following his 35 against Durham.
"I’m certainly very honoured by that," Hain said.
"You turn up at a place like here and it’s all about doing your job and, if anything, it’s a sign I’ve been doing it OK.
"Obviously it’s nice, but all it’s about is contributing and putting the Bears in a position to win games of cricket. I’m definitely hungry for more. I haven’t got a T20 hundred and personally that’s something I want to tick off. I’m very hungry to see how many more I can get."
After passing Jonathan Trott (1,911) in 2019, Hain climbed above Ian Bell (2,152) who had reached his total in 78 innings. When asked about over-taking two Bears legends, Hain answered modestly.
"You take it with a grain of salt really, because they played for England for so long," Hain replied. "If they played for the Bears in T20 and had more games you wonder how many both would have got."
