Rushworth: "I'm over the moon"

Chris Rushworth has been an instant hit at Warwickshire.

Arriving as Durham's all-time wicket taker and with a reputation as a new ball demon, Rushworth hasn't disappointed the Bears faithful.

Taking 12 wickets in the first three matches, the right-armer blew title-chasing Hampshire away with a match-winning 7/38 in the third innings and ten in the match.

The opening spell was that impressive, Richard Wilford of BBC WM dubbed it 'as one of the best new bowls he's ever seen'. High praise.

"I'm certainly over the moon as t's always nice to get wickets and to bowl spells like that," Rushworth said. "It's one of those were you just get on a roll and kind of know when things are going well. You start to feel in good rhythm and the ball comes out exactly how you want it to. I was just fortunate enough that they nicked them, the lads caught them or they missed the straight one.

"Ultimately, as a player you just want to win and we've played some great cricket so far this season. I don't think anyone was kind of expecting the game to be finish as it did today."

Despite bowling nearly 35,000 balls in formats, and now 36-years-old, it would be remiss to write Rushworth off. The Sunderland-native looks in fantastic condition, whilst bowling at his peak.

"Just sat in the dressing room I was just thinking to myself it was a really tough decision to leave, but I've 100% picked the right club" Rushworth added. We're playing some brilliant cricket and I'm absolutely loving cricket at the minute. It's great to be a part of a great bunch of lads and I'm having fun again and that's what it's all about.
