The reigning Champions would be eager to kick-start their campaign with a win, but after losing the toss and bowling in tough conditions, Robinson was delighted with the Bears' dogged attitude with the bat.
"From a team performance point of view we showed some good character because we were in a spot of bother," said Robinson. "It was self-inflicted bother at 40/4, but to batting on the last day - just after tea - is a pretty incredible effort.
"It was sort of what we did last year. We managed to find ways to stay in games and sometimes we’d pinch them. There was no chance of pinching that one, but hopefully, we grow bottle and character.
"We bowled in atrocious conditions and It was probably as bad as you’d ever play in on that first day. We then batted twice under lights - lost a couple of wickets - so we’re pleased.
"Players have got time in the middle and a couple of the lads got hundreds which will give them confidence and set them up for the season. Hopefully, we’ll get better and stronger as the season goes on."
