Robinson: "It's a great feeling for everybody"

Mark Robinson believes his side's win against Kent showcased the exciting drama of four day cricket.

Having lost over a days play due to weather, the Bears declared on 453/3, before dismissing the visitors for 158 and 281 in a combined 140.4 overs.

But whilst the scorecard will show a commanding victory of an innings and 14 runs, it was anything but. Kent fought back from 99/7 to 273/8 before a dramatic finale under the lights ensued.

"It's the best game, isn't it, four day cricket," said Robinson. "You get a reminder why we just love four day cricket so much. I don't think there's another game that gives you that drawn out suspense, hope and everything. You start to think it isn't going to happen and then there's a bit of magic and a brilliant catch, etc.

"A captain is only as good as his attack, so he's blessed at the moment and I've got to try and keep these boys fit. Hopefully, at some point we get Liam Norwell back as well, which will take some pressure off because we'll lose Chris Woakes occasionally due to being rested or back to England.

"It's a great feeling for everybody. We thought the weather, might halt us like it did last week, but it hasn't and I think we just seen one of the best all time celebrations as well. We've won and I think we're top of the league, which is great."
