Mark Robinson wants his Bears side to maintain their Vitality Blast momentum and cement a quarter-final home tie with victory at Notts Outlaws.

Last Friday’s derby success against Worcestershire Rapids secured the Bears third straight appearance in the competition’s last eight but a win in Nottingham, or at home to Durham on Sunday, will confirm top spot in the North Division.

The Bears have racked up an astonishing 490 runs in their last two T20 visits to Trent Bridge, including the 2022 Hose and Hain show when the pair compiled a 174 partnership en route to a record 261/2.

However, though leading run scorer Hain is close to recovering from a hamstring injury, he’s set to miss the trip to Nottingham.

“Hainy is probably still a game away,” said Robinson, “but he’ll travel to Trent Bridge to get back in amongst the squad and hopefully play on Sunday.

“We want to try and win every game, for our own pride and the fans, and we want to make absolutely certain of that home quarter final. It’s about your own standards, our desire and passion to win.

“We’ll have to be at our best but we’ve had success there in recent years and I’ll be looking for another strong performance.”

Danny Briggs pulled his hamstring during the Rapids game and will miss the rest of the Blast campaign, while Craig Miles is still around four weeks away from a return.

Hassan Ali is in line to play his last Blast game with the Club before teaming up with the Pakistan national squad, but Chris Woakes and Moeen Ali remain with the England camp and won’t be available for the Notts trip.
