The opening fixture of the Tri-Series sees Pakistan take on Sri Lanka on Sunday 18 October, before England play Pakistan on Tuesday 20 October in a day/night fixture in Rawalpindi to kick-start their tournament.
England remain in Rawalpindi as they take on Sri Lanka two days later, before they travel to Lahore where they will play Pakistan for a second time on Sunday 25 October.
A second group-stage fixture with Sri Lanka follows on Thursday 29 October with England looking to secure their place in the final, which will see the leading two teams in the group go head-to-head to be crowned winners.
Current form
England will arrive in Pakistan full of confidence having won each of their last three ODI series’, with victories over both Sri Lanka and India included in that.
They travelled to Sri Lanka at the start of 2026, coming from one-nil down to win the three-match series two-one. Following that, they entertained India in a three-match series in England and produced an impressive display against the world’s number one ranked ODI side, winning the series two-one.
It was the same result when Sri Lanka travelled to England for the most recent series between the two teams, with England winning the deciding fixture for a two-one win.
On home soil though, Pakistan may take some stopping. They have won their last three series in their own country, with victories over South Africa and Sri Lanka, as well as against a strong Australia side in June.
Players to watch
In Pakistan’s series victory over Australia, Babar Azam looked back to his best as he ended the series as the second highest run scorer.
Azam is the highest world ranked batter in the series, but will have some outstanding company, including the likes of teammate Salman Agha, Kusal Mendis and Charith Asalanka from Sri Lanka, and in-form Harry Brook and one of the finest run-scorers in the history of cricket, Joe Root, from England.
With the ball, expect fireworks too. A whole host of world-class bowling options will be showcasing their qualities. Jofra Archer and Adil Rashid from England, Abrar Ahmed and Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Maheesh Theekshana and Waninda Hasaranga are all ranked inside the world’s top 20 in ODI cricket.
