Warwickshire face Durham in the Metro Bank One Day Cup tomorrow, chasing a third successive away win that would take them to the brink of qualification for the knockout phase.

The Bears visit Chester-le-Street on the back of two powerful performances on the road: a three-wicket win over Somerset at Taunton and a five-wicket triumph over Lancashire at Liverpool. If they complete a hat-trick of away wins tomorrow, they will face Sussex at Edgbaston in the last group game on Tuesday, scenting the top-three finish which brings qualification - and possibly even top spot for a home semi-final.

Bears coach Ian Westwood is delighted with his team’s impressive form – and especially that it has many components with a lot of different players making match-shaping contributions.

Having won just three of their seven games, Durham are out of the race for the knockout phase, but are still dangerous opponents, says Westwood. The Bears must stay strong as a busy season approaches its business end, with them still in contention in all formats.

"Durham are a good team with some experienced players, so we will have to be at our best to win there," the coach said. "But we are full of confidence at the moment and have players performing well, so hopefully we can go there and get another win. If we do, we will be in a strong position.”
