13-18 pathway
Applications now open to join Warwickshire's Youth Pathway
Video applications are now open to join the Warwickshire Bears Youth Pathway.
Following on from the success of previous years, boys and girls from Under-13 to Under-18 can now apply by submitting a video of themselves batting, bowling or wicket-keeping for assessment by coaches.
Applications are encouraged from all budding cricketers, with applications open for boys and girls until the following dates:
Girls - Tuesday 18th August 2026
Boys - Friday 4th September 2026
Once the deadline passes, coaches that are part of the Bears’ Youth Pathway will assess the submitted videos in search of the next prospect in the game.
Warwickshire was the first professional cricket club to introduce such an application system, which was run in partnership with Birmingham City University.

Warwickshire Bears Pathway Lead (Boys), Ben Gibbons, said: “This is an incredible opportunity for any cricketers within Warwickshire to share their talent with us.
“Several players have come through the Bears pathway and have gone on to make appearances for the men’s and women’s professional sides.
“I would encourage families, teachers and coaches to send in footage so we can take a look. It could be a first step to an exciting career in the game.”
Last year, hundreds applied to be part of Warwickshire’s junior ranks, with 256 videos submitted for the boys programme alone. Of those, 49 were invited to attend a series of coaching sessions during the winter, with 13 boys going on to be involved in the CAG or Development Team environment this summer. The Girls Pathway reviewed 105 players via the video applications and in-person observations, with 20 girls involved in the CAG Winter programme.
This year, the University of Birmingham (UoB) pathway partnership has helped to reduce significant financial barriers at the initial point of entry by removing all programme fees for boys and girls from U10s to U18s, while also providing a free kit bundle for every player on the pathway. This is also the second year of the Bursary Fund which aims to reduce barriers for talented players, ensuring they are given the best opportunity to remain part of the pathway.
Warwickshire CCC have partnered with Ludimos who will provide the platform for all video entries in 2026. To view our terms of service, please click on the following link: Terms of Service
