During the celebrations at Edgbaston last Saturday, captain Ed Barnard, praised the impact of the trio.
“The overseas players deserve a shout,” he said. “Beau [Webster] was brilliant at the start of the year, and Youngy [Will] and Manav [Suthar] at the back end have been fantastic. It’s been a squad effort.”
They all made an impact.
Beau Webster
Having impressed during a six-game stint in 2025, Beau Webster returned to Warwickshire for the first eight games of the red-ball season in 2026.
He set his stall out in the opening game of the season, scoring an important 53 against Surrey as the Bears kick-started the campaign with a draw. Two games later, and he was making a match-winning contribution against Essex.
Coming in at 14/3 in the second innings, Webster hit a season-best 91 off 123 balls and the highest individual score in the match to see the side to a total of 220. In a low-scoring affair, the Australian all-rounder then picked up the final two wickets of Essex’s innings, as Warwickshire earned their first win of the campaign by 41 runs.
In his final four-day game of the season for the Bears, in between hitting the ball to all parts in the Vitality Blast, Webster took 4/23 against fellow title-chasers Somerset in an entertaining draw down in Taunton.
Webster would end his red-ball spell at the Bears with 403 runs and 12 wickets, and was awarded the ‘White Bear’, also known as the full county cap, recognising the role of an established player within the First Team ranks.
Will Young
Will Young’s return to the Bears for the final six games of the season was announced in July after he impressed in the Bear and Ragged Staff last season. Brought in to bolster the top order batting, he played five of the final six games, however was only required to bat on six occasions due to the Bears’ dominance with the ball across that stretch of fixtures.
A popular figure at Edgbaston, the highlight came in Warwickshire’s innings and 127-run victory over Glamorgan at Sophia Gardens.
Having dismissed the hosts for just 69 on the opening day, the Bears piled on 391, with Young, opening the batting alongside Rob Yates, scoring 60 to get the side off to a calm start. Warwickshire would go on to win inside two days.
Young has also played an important role in the slip cordon, taking one of the catches of the season at third slip in the final game of the campaign at home to Leicestershire. Watch it here. Manav Suthar
Indian international Manav Suthar was initially signed on a two-game deal for the pair of fixtures sandwiched in between white-ball cricket, and after proving his difference-making ability, was quickly resigned for the closing four fixtures.
The Bears coincided the announcement of his signing with his debut for his country, where he took 6/33 against Afghanistan and received the player of the match award. He then jetted to the UK to join up with his new team-mates at Edgbaston, and played in both draws against Yorkshire and Somerset.
The left arm finger spinner, although unable to contribute to a victory in either match, took 11 wickets over the two games.
It was soon announced that he would be back for the final four fixtures, following two more appearances for India, this time against Sri Lanka, where he took another 16 Test scalps.
The 24-year-old featured in all four closing victories that ultimately saw the Bears to the title. He took 7/94 in the match against Hampshire and incredibly three without conceding a run in the following win over Glamorgan. A five-wicket haul in the second innings against Essex came in the penultimate fixture.
In six matches he took 27 wickets at an average of 19.92 and made a lasting impression with his team-mates.
