New Board members bring wealth of business and sports experience

Warwickshire County Cricket Club has welcomed some new faces to the Board of Directors to help drive forward its ambitious development plans.

Louise Jones and Dominic Wong bring more than 50 years’ combined business leadership experience having worked in senior roles for major multi-nationals.

Both were officially appointed following last month’s AGM and join Tracey Orr who was on the Board previously in a one-year co-opted capacity.

All three will sit on the Board for a three-year term before seeking re-election and re-appointment.

Warwickshire Chair Mark McCafferty welcomed all three to the Club and said he was excited at the prospect of working with them and existing Board members.

He said: “Everyone at the Club extends a warm welcome to Louise and Dominic, plus congratulations to Tracey as she starts her first term as an appointed director.

Louise – who grew up in Warwickshire and played cricket for Southam Ladies CC – has 25 years’ experience in marketing and digital leadership roles across leisure, consumer goods, and health sectors.

She is currently Marketing Director at Virgin Active and, since joining in 2020, has helped steer the growth of the company’s membership base and brand.

Dominic – who spent almost 30 years with Deloitte LLP having joined the company in 1991 – comes from a cricket family.

Both his children played club cricket in Warwickshire whilst his wife has worked on community projects with the Edgbaston Foundation charity and the Warwickshire Cricket Board.

During his time with Deloitte, Dom, from Bentley Heath, transformed their restructuring team in the Midlands into an innovative market leader, and was also part of their wider Sports Business team, advising several leading football clubs and rights owners.

Tracey – who volunteered during the city’s 2022 Commonwealth Games – was co-opted to the Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director at the 2022 AGM.

She is a vastly experienced commercial Chief Operating Officer and Human Resources leader having recently completed her executive career at the Central England Co-operative.
