Lintott: "I owe a lot to this Club"

Jake Lintott admits he's full of appreciation to the Bears, having extended his contract ahead of the new campaign.

The wrist-spinner, who has penned a deal that will keep him at Edgbaston until at least the end of the 2025 season, continues his rise through the cricketing ranks having dropped out of the game pre-COVID.

A teacher at Queen's College Taunton, Lintott trialled with the Bears in 20210, taking ten wickets, before signing his first professional deal with the Club in 2021.

Fast forward to now and Lintott has become a rock in the T20 attack. The Bears’ leading 2022 Vitality Blast wicket-taker is up to 44 dismissals domestically, with plenty more added from his experiences in the franchise world.

Not bad for a guy who held virtual training sessions with Graeme Welch via Zoom.

"It's obviously brilliant news for me and ever since I started playing here during that COVID season, it's been a special place for me," said the 29-year-old. "I'm really lucky that this Club backed me where I perhaps haven't been backed anywhere else. I owe a lot to this Club and to be able to extend is really exciting for me.

"For me, winning the T20 would be the pinnacle. We won the Championship a couple of years ago and it was great to be a part of that squad, but, from my perspective, I feel like we've got a lot of bases covered with our T20 squad. Even reaching a quarter final we're under-performing in terms of what we think we can achieve so we'll be going all out to try and reach Finals Day.
