Birmingham Phoenix Head Coach Shane Bond said: “We’re obviously disappointed to lose a player of Jacob’s quality and potential, but Joe is an excellent replacement. He has scored runs consistently over a number of years in county cricket and brings plenty of experience to the group. We’re delighted to welcome him to Birmingham Phoenix and look forward to seeing what he can contribute this season.”
Weatherley said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity to join Birmingham Phoenix and be part of The Hundred. First and foremost, I want to wish Jacob all the best in his recovery. It’s unfortunate for him to miss out, but I’m excited to get started, meet the squad and do everything I can to help the team have a successful campaign.”
Everyone at Birmingham Phoenix welcomes Joe to the club and wishes Jacob a full and speedy recovery.
