Bears unite for Movember to support men’s health
The Bears family has once again come together throughout November to shine a light on men’s physical and mental health, supporting Movember with a programme of activity designed to spark conversations, raise awareness, and, in true Edgbaston style, have some fun along the way.

Across the month, staff from every corner of the Club have taken part in initiatives encouraging men to look after themselves, check in with one another, and access support when they need it. From health checks to moustache-growing, it has been a brilliant effort from everyone involved.
To support colleagues in prioritising their wellbeing, the Club offered physical health screenings and medical check-ups, encouraging men to get proactive about their bodies and carry out essential checks. An interactive talk on men’s mental health and suicide helped build understanding, reduce stigma, and empower staff to spot the signs when someone might be struggling. A Club-wide darts tournament also gave everyone the chance to connect, unwind and enjoy some healthy competition.
Congratulations to Bobby Braidwood from the Ticketing & Memberships team, who showed nerves of steel to win the Darts Extravaganza.
A highlight of the month was a session led by Matt Lock, who delivered a powerful discussion on men’s mental health, how to talk openly about difficult topics, how to support friends, colleagues and loved ones, and why it is so important that men feel able to speak up.
Movember wouldn’t be complete without the iconic moustaches, and once again, Bears staff and players stepped up to grow their finest facial hair in solidarity with the cause. Employees across the Club have been braving the itches in support of Movember and the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation, while a group of Bears players are also growing Mos and raising funds through their own Movember team page.
Bears’ batter Rob Yates is one of the players who has been growing a Mo this month and is keen to highlight the importance of men’s health.
Every conversation, every laugh, every awkward first-week moustache and every pound raised helps move us closer to a world where men can live longer, healthier, happier lives. Thanks to everyone across the Club who got involved, supported a colleague, or grew a Mo. You’ve made a real difference.
