Bears Men and Women announce pre-season tours

Comms 09 26 Men & Women pre-season Tours 3 16x9

Ian Westwood’s Men’s side will return to Stellenbosch, South Africa, after their successful pre-season trip earlier this year, while Ali Maiden’s Bears Women will embark on their inaugural overseas trip to Mumbai, India, ahead of their third professional season.

Specific match details are still to be confirmed, however the men’s side will travel to South Africa on Wednesday 3 March, returning on Thursday 18 March, while the women’s squad will fly to India on 15 March, returning 11 days later on 26 March.

James Thomas, Performance Director at Warwickshire, said: “We’re pleased to have secured pre-season trips for both squads ahead of the 2027 season.

“The feedback from both the players and coaching staff was that Stellenbosch was the perfect warm-up ahead of the 2026 season given the facilities on offer and the quality of opposition we managed to secure while we were over there, so we were more than happy to return in 2027.

“Bears Women’s trip to Mumbai will be a landmark moment for the Club, marking our first official overseas pre-season tour since becoming a professional side.

“We have made a strong commitment to investing in women’s cricket from the outset and, across our first two years in Tier 1, were among the leading counties for operational investment in our women’s programme. As we enter year three, we are increasing that investment further as part of the next phase of our development.

“The Mumbai tour reflects that ambition; giving our players and staff valuable preparation time, the opportunity to experience new conditions, and a shared experience that will strengthen the group ahead of the new season.”
