Austin signs two-year extension with Warwickshire Bears

Meg Austin has signed a new two-year contract extension that will see her remain with Warwickshire Women.

The new deal sees the top order batter extend her stay with the Club until at least the end of the 2028 season.

Austin becomes the latest Bears player to commit her future to the Club, joining Davina Perrin, Nat Wraith, Amu Surenkumar, Chloe Brewer and Millie Taylor, who recently signed contract extensions to stay at Edgbaston.

Having progressed through the Warwickshire Academy before establishing herself in the Bears’ senior squad, Austin has enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2026.

The 21-year-old has been among the leading run-scorers in the Metro Bank One Day Cup this term, amassing over 400 runs.

Austin struck a first List A century for the Club in the competition in the 20-run victory against Lancashire, with her scintillating 116 coming from 137 deliveries at Edgbaston.

Warwickshire Bears Women Head Coach, Ali Maiden, said: “We’re delighted that Meg has signed a new contract with the Club.

“Meg has certainly proved this season that she has the ability to be a match-winner for us. She has shown what she can do at the top of the order, playing positively and scoring crucial runs in both one-day and T20 cricket.

“We’re looking forward to seeing what she can help us achieve over the next two seasons.”

On signing a new contract with Warwickshire, Austin added: “I’m really pleased to be extending my time with Warwickshire for another two years. I’ve been with the Club for a few years now and feel like I’m continuing to improve and develop every season.

“I’m excited for what’s ahead and I’m looking forward to playing my part in helping the team push for trophies, while continuing to grow and move the women’s game forward.”
