Beau Webster is hoping Warwickshire Bears can pick up a third successive win in the 2026 Vitality Blast to keep their hopes of success in this year’s competition alive when they entertain Sussex Sharks at Edgbaston Stadium on Wednesday 1 July.

The Bears have responded to a testing start of this year’s campaign by winning back-to-back fixtures to maintain their slim hopes of progressing from the group stages.

Webster has been key to the Bears’ upturn in form, scoring a blistering 112 off just 61 balls in their successful run-chase against Somerset, before he was at his destructive best once again in the win against Worcestershire last Friday with 79 off 44 balls.

The Australian has now scored 367 runs in seven matches in the competition to sit second in the run-scoring charts, and says momentum can now play a part as the Bears look to force their way into Quarter Final contention.

“It's nice to get two on the trot and a big game against Sussex on Wednesday night, followed by two more on Friday and Sunday,” he said. “They're coming thick and fast to the end now.

“T20s are won and lost on momentum, no doubt. We started poorly, we all know that, but it’s been important getting two good wins and starting to fire a bit in the middle of the tournament.

“We’re probably going to have to win four out of five or maybe all five to be able to qualify, but I'm sure some teams will be nervous if we do get on a run.

“We're taking it game-by-game, as cliché as that sounds, but like I said, it’s thick and fast now with three games in five days coming up. The first job is Sussex here on Wednesday.”

Webster, who played for the Bears during 2025 before rejoining the team for the 2026 season, was presented with the ‘White Bear’, also known as the full county cap during Friday’s win against Worcestershire.

The cap recognises the role of an established player within the First Team ranks, with Webster proud to have made an impact during his time at the Club.

“It was a hugely proud moment for me to get presented with the Bear from Sam Hain,” he added.

“This club holds the White Bear in high esteem, and to think they deem me worthy of that is a huge honour. It was a lovely moment there. My wife came down and then also we followed up with a win and I contributed as well.

“It was a great day on Friday and I just hope I can contribute some more to try and push for some silverware.”

Play gets under way at Edgbaston between Warwickshire Bears and Sussex at 7:00pm on Wednesday 1 July. Prior to that Bears Women entertain Essex at 3:00pm as part of a huge doubleheader, with England last-32 World Cup fixture against DR Congo being shown in the Exhibition Hall and on TVs around the concourse in between games.
