Rugby Cricket Festival returns for Bears’ One Day Cup fixtures

Warwickshire County Cricket Club will return to Rugby School for the third successive year, with three Metro Bank One Day Cup fixtures in the space of ten days at the start of August.

This year the Rugby Cricket Festival will see the Bears face Gloucestershire on Sunday 2 August, before the visit of the Red Rose of Lancashire on Sunday 9 August, and Kent on Tuesday 11 August.

The Bears will be looking to kick-start their 50-over campaign at a ground where they picked up two wins from three last year.

The Bears were in inspired form across their opening two fixtures at Rugby School in 2025, providing entertainment with both bat and ball.

Batting first against Northants, Alex Davies hit a run-a-ball 123, before some late fireworks from Michael Booth (45 from 25 deliveries) saw Warwickshire to 291 from their 50 overs. Academy graduate, Taz Ali, then starred with the ball, taking five for 43 as the Bears won by 62 runs.

Three days later, 50s from Ed Barnard and Kai Smith put the Bears in control of their game against Kent, before Ali again impressed with his leg-spin, taking a second five-fer at the ground as the Bears won by 79 runs.

Entry for all three Rugby Cricket Festival fixtures this year is free of charge. Members are required to claim their ticket by logging in to their online account. Fans are encouraged to book their tickets here with limited availability for the Gloucestershire and Lancashire fixtures.
