Chris Rushworth retires from professional cricket
Chris Rushworth has announced his retirement from professional cricket after a stellar 16-year career.

39-year-old Rushworth joined Warwickshire in 2023, taking 53 wickets at an average of 20.26 in his first season at the club.
He signed a one-year extension with Warwickshire in a player-coach role ahead of the 2026 season, but has called time on his playing career to focus on his coaching role.
He joined the Bears from Durham, where he’d played from the age of nine, leaving as the County’s highest First-class wicket-taker in their history.
His best red-ball season came in 2015, when he took 83 wickets in Division One, with seven five-wicket hauls, averaging 20.61 at a misely economy of 2.92, a year in which he also lifted the PCA Player of the Year award.
Overall, he has taken 676 first-class wickets, as well as 218 in shorter formats.
