A Warwickshire Academy graduate, Hamza Shaikh made his Bears debut in August 2022 when he opened the batting in the One Day Cup against Sussex at Edgbaston. He’s also been a regular for England through age group cricket and was selected for England Under 19s for the 2024 World Cup, captaining the side later that year before also lining up for England Lions.
A student at Eden Boys School, Perry Barr, Birmingham-born Shaikh grew up playing cricket local to Edgbaston, starting his club career with Smethwick before moving across to Knowle & Dorridge.
