Nat Wraith is challenging her Warwickshire Bears teammates to come out firing as they bid to make it three wins in a row in the 2026 Vitality Blast when they take on Essex at Edgbaston Stadium on Wednesday 1 July.
The fixture forms part of a huge doubleheader at The People’s Home of Cricket, with Bears Women playing Essex at 3:00pm, before Bears Men play Sussex at 7:00pm. Tickets remain available, with England’s last-32 World Cup game against DR Congo also being shown at the stadium in between matches.
Wraith struck a T20 career-best 83 in the Bears’ nail biting one-run win over Lancashire on Sunday, and she was pleased to contribute in a winning effort.
“We were obviously really happy to win, and to do it in a close games is always a nice feeling,” she said. “It was nice to get a few runs too.
“No-one really likes getting losing runs, so when we got across the line it felt a bit nicer as it means something. That’s what the most pleasing thing was.
“It’s all about momentum now and hopefully we can carry this winning momentum into the next game against Essex.”
While the Bears struggled for form at the beginning of the 2026 Blast, they could make it three wins in the space of six days should they win on Wednesday.
Wraith’s performance against Lancashire was key to their winning run continuing, alongside a disciplined display from the Bears’ bowling unit.
“We haven’t been relying on one person which is nice and I think the bowlers have bowled well in the last two games,” Wraith added.
“We bowled Surrey out for a low total, and then managed to defend 160, so that was nice to see.
“We’ve had so many games recently, it’s been back-to-back, so you don’t really have much time to think. I think it’s quite helpful when you’re winning because you can just carry that momentum on without having to talk about things too much.
“I love playing at Edgbaston, especially when it’s a doubleheader with the men. Essex beat us earlier in the season, but hopefully we can bowl as we have done in the last few games and see where we go.”
