The reception saw members of the Bears’ squad and coaching staff, alongside representatives from across Warwickshire County Cricket Club that included Chair Tracey Orr, members of the Board, President, Members’ Committee, Cricket Committee and Executive Leadership Team join representatives from the Council.

The event provided an opportunity to celebrate a memorable season for the Bears, less than a week on from securing the Rothesay County Championship title with victory over Leicestershire.

Representatives of the Club were firstly welcomed by the Lord Mayor, before Warwickshire Chief Executive Stuart Cain and Club Captain Ed Barnard had the opportunity to thank the Lord Mayor for his hospitality.

With refreshments provided, all staff then gathered for photographs on the famous Council House staircase and balcony.

Warwickshire County Cricket Club Captain, Ed Barnard, said: “It’s been wonderful to be hosted by the Lord Mayor here at the City Council, and to have the chance to meet some of the very important people from around the region. To celebrate with them has been lovely.

“I said on Saturday after the game that to see all the faces there, and the members that are part of the city and region as a whole, was really nice, and to know that we’ve brought some joy.
