The Planning Committee approved the Club’s planning application which was referred to the Government Office for scrutiny and they were satisfied to leave it Birmingham City Council to determine.

What happens next ?

Our application covering Reserved Matters(appearance, access and landscaping) has been re-submitted with minor amendments.

What’s happening with the funding?

Birmingham City Council approved the loan for the project at a cabinet meeting on 2nd November 2009.

What are the project timescales?

Working to the current timescales we will be starting onsite in January 2010 with completion by the summer of 2011.

How does the Planning Application affect the Club?

The timing of the planning approval enabled Edgbaston to submit their bids for the 2012 -2016 round of International matches which stands us in good stead to continue the tradition of International cricket at Edgbaston for the foreseeable future.

How will it affect the 2010 cricket season at Edgbaston?

There is currently a programme of works being prepared in the off-season to reconfigure the ground to operate during the 2010 season and the start of 2011. Updates on those arrangements will appear on this site.
