James Ord

BORN: 09/11/87, Birmingham

ROLE: Right-hand bat; Right-arm Offbreak

BEST TWENTY20 PERFORMANCE: N/A

A composed and technically correct top-order batsman, Ord broke into the Bears’ first team at the back end of last season, impressing many with his temperament and ability to graft out runs against lively attacks. For now largely seen as someone whose game better suits Championship cricket, he is unlikely to feature much in this season’s Friends Provident t20 but will doubtless be keen to prove that he can adapt to the demands of the shorter format in the future. Also a brilliant fielder and a renowned fitness fanatic who has a monopoly on the club’s weight machines, he is one of the most promising of the next generation of Warwickshire cricketers.
