Warwickshire Second XI v MCC Young Cricketers, High Wycombe CC, April 19-21 2010

Warwickshire (24 points) beat MCC YC (6 points) by an innings and 58 runs

The MCC YC won the toss at High Wycombe CC and reached the lunch interval on 104-3, but after the break they struggled to get on top of the Warwickshire attack, losing four more wickets.

Keith Barker quickly wrapped up the MCC YC innings after tea, taking all three remaining wickets in one over, to finish with figures of 7-52 as the home side were bowled out for 250.

Warwickshire closed on 82-1 in reply and despite losing Ord, Piolet, Javid and Webb relatively cheaply on the second morning, Darren Maddy completed his century, and at lunch Warwickshire were 246-5.

After the interval, Johnson and Maddy laid into the MCC attack, as Maddy passed two hundred before being finally dismissed for 252.

Johnson and Barker continued to make hay, with Johnson completing his fifty as the Bears were finally bowled out for 477.

By the close of the second day the home side had reached 54-1 but they found progress more difficult on the final day, against an outstanding spell of bowling from Tom Milnes 4-50, lunching on 150-7, before Steff Piolet quickly polished off the tail with 3-3 as the Seconds completed a comprehensive innings and 58 run victory.
