DAY 3

Resuming the final day on 106-3, Warwickshire were finally dismissed for 243 from 73.5 overs with Fawcett making 43 and Tahir 35, setting Leicestershire a target of 224 for victory from a minimum of fifty overs.

Leicestershire got off to a brisk start, reaching eighty five without loss before Piolet took two wickets in an over to check their progress. Still in contention at 164-4 Leicestershire were finally undone when they lost a further three wickets in three overs before finally closing up shop to reach 169-8 from fifty one overs as the match petered out as a draw. 

 

DAY 2

Leicestershire continued batting on the second day and despite being 56-3 during the morning session, had Pope 62 and Naik 78* to thank as they were able to declare at tea after ninety two overs on 293-7 with a twenty run first innings lead.

Paul Best 3-94 was the most successful Warwickshire bowler, with Nic Powell 2-47 giving good support. Dougie Brown and Calum MacLeod took the other wickets to fall.

In their second innings, Warwickshire lost Ord 19 and Newport 2 early on, but Webb 45 with Fawcett 32* steadied the innings taking them on to 106-3 at the close with Ateeq Javid three not out.

 

DAY 1

Leicestershire won the toss at Coventry and N Warwicks C.C. and put Warwickshire in to bat on an overcast morning in this Second Eleven friendly match .

They were soon reaping reward for their choice as Warwickshire slid to 63-6 after lunch, but a seventh wicket partnership of 158 between Ateeq Javid 70 and Calum MacLeod 103*, his maiden second team century, helped them recover to close on 273 from 93.2 overs. There were three wickets apiece for Masters, AJ Harris and Malik.

In reply, Leicestershire were 21-0 at the close off eight overs.
