Durham complete victory over the Seconds

In the latest SE Championship match at Moseley C.C. Durham completed a 10 wicket victory over Warwickshire

DAY 3

Resuming on the third morning with a slender lead, Warwickshire were finally dismissed for 291 with Johnson 30 and Brown 23 top scoring in the session. Calum Harding with 4-85 was the most successful Durham bowler as the visitors were set a target of 110 for victory.

Durham had reached just eighteen without loss when rain brought the players off for over an hour, but once play resumed, the openers, Coetzer 54* and Raine 41* made short work of the task as Durham ran out ten wicket victors.

Durham took 24 points and Warwickshire 5 points

DAY 2

Shavin and Piolet took their fifth wicket partnership on to sixty one on the second morning before Shavin 25 was out.

When Piolet 37 followed the Bears were 90-8 but Milnes 24 and Dougie Brown 56 helped take the first innings total on to 187 trailing by 182 as Durham implemented the follow-on after Chris Rushworth 5-35 and Calum Harding 3-51 were the main wicket takers.

Second time around, Nathan Newport 26 and James Ord 51 added forty four for the first wicket and with Shavin making fifty five, the Bears closed the second day on 208-5 with a lead of twenty six and five wickets in hand going into the final day.

DAY 1

On the opening morning of their latest SE Championship match at Moseley C.C. the Bears lost the toss and Durham chose to bat with a strong line-up against a relatively inexperienced home attack. .

Steffan Piolet took 3 wickets for the Bears as Durham made 369 in thier first innings and by the close of the opening day, Having been 17-4 at one stage, Warwickshire were in trouble on 68-4 at th close, with Newport, Ord, MacLeod and Webb all out and Piolet 27* leading a slight recovery against a Durham attack led by Chris Rushworth and Ben Harmison.
