Twenty20 Is Almost Here
The Bears’ Friends Life Twenty20 campaign kicks off against Durham Dynamos on June 2. Make sure you’re part of the action!
The tournament itself will kick off on June 1 and will see current champions Hampshire Royals take on last season's runners-up Somerset at The Rose Bowl. Warwickshire, however, will first take to the field against Dale Benkenstein’s men up at the Emirates Durham ICG the following day, and they face a dangerous side that could potentially include former England Twenty20 skipper Paul Collingwood.
The Bears get their first taste of home action on Sunday June 5, when they welcome Andrew Hall’s Northants Steelbacks side to Edgbaston. Northants have been in excellent form so far this season, with canny Sri Lankan allrounder Chaminda Vaas – last season’s FTI Twenty20 MVP – very much to the fore.
Throw in a packed-out Edgbaston, some summer sun (hopefully) and the Bears’ own power-packed line-up, and it promises to be a fantastic spectacle that should provide something for everyone.
