An explosive start from Trott and in particular, Carter, helped the Bears post fifty in only the sixth over as Carter plundered sixty eight before losing his middle stump to a full delivery from White.
Trott was well caught at deep backward square-leg after he and Bell had maintained the early rapid scoring rate, before Jim Troughton’s attempted reverse sweep saw him lbw to Henderson.
Maddy edged Hoggard to ‘keeper New and when Westwood steepled Mc Donald to Nixon the Bears were 204-5 in the thirtieth over. Bell completed his fifty but was finally caught reverse sweeping at deep square-leg for seventy-two.
Woakes and Ambrose smashed the Foxes’ attack around the ground adding eighty-seven runs in just 6 overs as the Bears’ innings closed on 321-7.
Carter struck early for the Bears after Jefferson had taken two sixes off the over and when du Toit edged Woakes to Ambrose soon after, it looked as if the Foxes would find the target too difficult.
Taylor and Nixon put their side back in the hunt adding 73 runs in just nine overs and McDonald helped Taylor to his fifty before a mix-up resulted in his demise.
Wickets started to tumble with the Foxes needing more than twelve an over from the last ten but in the gathering gloom, Cobb became Imran’s third victim when Troughton took another good catch at long on.

The game ended when the umpires brought the players off the field for bad light with Leicestershire 235-7 leaving the Bears winners by 41 runs on D/L method with Taylor closing unbeaten on 92.
