Outcome Of Pitch Panel Appeal Hearing

Warwickshire County Cricket Club is disappointed by the outcome of the Appeal Panel of the ECB not to reinstate an earlier decision to deduct 8 points from its 2011 LV=County Championship points total .

Chief Executive Colin Povey said, “The appeal was based on what we felt was the incorrect process by which the original decision was taken and, on the basis that our groundstaff had done everything they could reasonably have been expected to produce a good pitch. We were of the view that any unevenness of bounce was entirely beyond their control."

“Having had the opportunity to present our case we must now accept the decision of the panel and focus on delivering consistently good pitches for the remainder of the season and into the future.”

The club will make no further comment on this matter.
