Awards ceremonies aren’t just confined to industries – they are widely used within businesses and organisations to acknowledge and celebrate the hard work of their employees. They are becoming increasing popular across all industries, celebrating achievement in every field from business to technology.
Award Ceremonies have to deliver an unforgettable experience for attendees which can pose a unique set of challenges, meaning they must be approached differently from other corporate events. You need to ensure that the award ceremony is memorable and engaging for all attendees.
Planning can be daunting – let us take the hassle away
Planning an award ceremony can be daunting, mainly because you have to keep clients, sponsors and attendees happy and engaged throughout. This means planning and orchestrating an awards show down to the finest detail in order to achieve the desired outcome for all parties. Edgbaston Stadium offers high standard of service and management and our dedicated and professional team have an excellent reputation of delivering fantastic events whilst understanding our clients’ needs.
A good way to improve your award ceremony planning is to put yourself in the position of a person that has not won an award. This will help focus your attention on making the event entertaining for everybody, for the duration of the programme.
Finding a Venue
Awards Ceremonies can be formal or casual, and the venue should reflect the overall tone of your event. If you are planning a formal dinner then Edgbaston stadium is the ultimate banqueting venue to add a touch of glamour and prestige to your event.
"Edgbaston provides stunning party spaces to hold exclusive and bespoke events with capabilities of hosting variety of event sizes up to 800 guests. All our suites are situated overlooking the iconic Edgbaston pitch and offer magnificent views as well as a captivating setting for any celebratory events."
When considering different venues, take the time to visit the establishment in person. Look around, and assure yourself that it meets all of your needs. Make sure the hall offers sufficient parking, and that it has adequate restroom facilities for all of your guests. Also, make a note of it’s location, and consider how easy or difficult it will be for your guests to find.

The production of the event is where you earn the engagement. If you can create a sense of theatre then you can make the award ceremony feel special for those involved. This doesn’t meant that you have to have a big budget but it does mean you have to be creative. Your plans for the production should cover all aspects including set design, AV, lighting and entertainment.
Through our recommended suppliers we can provide the latest cutting edge AV technology which will bring your event to life. To add extra personalisation, you can utilise and brand Edgbaston’s pitchside scoreboards and stadium TVs.
Award Wining Catering
"Our experienced team consistently deliver exceptional lunch and dinner events by providing excellent service, attention to detail and delicious quality cuisine with fine wines."
Award ceremonies don’t have to be based around lavish sit-down banquets. Our award winning executive Head Chef and his team can create a tailored menu, bespoke for your event including Halal, vegetarian and other special dietary requirements. We have a range of menus to suit your event which offer everything from three-course dining to informal catering and buffets. Our experienced team consistently deliver exceptional lunch and dinner events by providing excellent service, attention to detail and delicious quality cuisine with fine wines.
Involve the entire audience
While the award ceremony must focus primarily on those being honoured with awards themselves, it is important that you ensure that the ‘non-winners’ enjoy the evening too. Make their evening one to remember by creating an exciting atmosphere and making it clear that they are included in the evening and that their attendance is well appreciated. Roll out the red carpet for all guests and ensure that the event photographer captures photos of not only the winners. Our Banqueting package includes a red carpet on arrival which will create a memorable experience from the moment they enter Edgbaston Stadium.
DOCUMENTING YOUR AWARD CEREMONY
"Edgbaston is happy to include a case study of your award dinner on the Club website giving your event further exposure and documentation post event."
Given that an awards ceremony is a celebratory event, it makes sense to capture those special moments on film. If you have budget, hire someone to film people receiving their awards as well as crowd shots to capture the atmosphere. They can then edit a highlights package that can be shared with sponsors, on social media and kept for posterity by award winners.
