More Fresh Faces At Edgbaston

Bear with ragged staff

The Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Flindall to the new position of Finance Director.

He will join the Club on 4 May 2010 from the Corporate Finance practice at Ernst & Young LLP (EY) in Birmingham.

Commenting on the news Warwickshire Chief Executive Colin Povey said: “As the business of the Club continues to grow and the redevelopment of Edgbaston becomes a reality, I am delighted that we have been able to recruit a high-calibre individual for this new role. Craig has worked with us previously as part of the EY team that helped the Club produce its Master Plan Business Plan in support of the redevelopment of the ground. He is a keen cricket fan, a graduate of Birmingham University and a fully qualified chartered accountant. Craig is familiar with our business model and should be able to settle quickly into the senior executive team. He joins the game and the Club at a fascinating time and I am sure he will be a valuable addition to the business.”

Craig himself added: “This is a great opportunity for me to combine my professional expertise and love of cricket. I know from my time working with the Club previously that the plans to develop the business and the ground are ambitious but absolutely essential in order to maintain Edgbaston’s status as a leading international cricket venue. As a Birmingham resident and a regular visitor to Edgbaston over the last 15 years I am very keen to see the Club succeed and look forward to the challenges ahead.”

At the same time the Club is also recruiting Helen Clarke as its new Head of Ticketing. Helen joins from market leader Ticketmaster and again she arrives at the beginning of May. She has previously worked for the Welsh Rugby Union and as part of support teams at events such as the IRB Rugby World Cup, ICC Champions Trophy, the Beijing Olympics and the ICC World Twenty20.
