Edgbaston Renaissance
Warwickshire County Cricket Club are delighted to announce that the main contract for constructing the new stand at Edgbaston has now been signed with Galliford Try.
Construction is already underway on site. Warwickshire Chief Executive Colin Povey said: “It has been a long road but well worth it to secure international cricket for the city and region for the foreseeable future.”
Both Birmingham City Council and Advantage West Midlands have played a key role in providing funding for this landmark project, as Project Director Phil Macdonald explained: “This project is a great example of a partnership between organisations wanting to deliver a brighter future for the area. We are creating world-class facilities in Birmingham that will draw the best teams and the most exciting cricket to Edgbaston. In turn this will bring economic benefits to the region.”
The Club is proud to acknowledge the significant contribution made to this project by our key professional advisors: Rider Levett Bucknall (project management and quantity surveying), Turley Associates (planning), Savills (property advice) and Wragge & Co (legal services).
Advantage West Midlands is one of nine Regional Development Agencies in England whose role is to transform the English regions through sustainable economic development. For more information visit: www.advantagewm.co.uk
For every £1 invested by Advantage West Midlands, the Agency is generating a £7.45 return for the regional economy.
A redeveloped Edgbaston will contribute to the growth of the city and the region as a whole
