Edgbaston Phones Ringing Hot After Ashes Triumph
The phones have been ringing hot at Edgbaston with demands for tickets for England’s 3rd npower Test Match against India, which starts on 10th of August, following England’s fantastic victory over Australia in the Ashes series.
Nearly 4,000 tickets were sold in the first week of January alone, by far the highest demand for tickets since they went on sale in November.
Tickets have been in demand for all sections of the ground, including the new £32million stand development, which promises to turn Edgbaston into one of the top international Test and county cricket grounds in the country.
"The demand is unbelievable," says Colin Povey, Chief Executive of Warwickshire County Cricket Club.
He added: "Without doubt England’s win in Australia has thrilled the nation and now cricket lovers can’t wait to see India, the world’s current number one team, here at Edgbaston in the summer.
"What’s even better is that with Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott in the England line-up, there will be two top Warwickshire players leading England’s bid to take over the mantle from India as the world's number one ranked team."
