Development Update

With the season now over, work on the redevelopment is continuing in earnest; read on for further updates.

Now in the 6th month of a 15 month build programme the construction is on time for completion and handover on the 1st July 2011. The pictures illustrate that steelwork erection is virtually complete for the southern section and progressing well on the ‘West Stand’.

As can be seen in the pictures, work has started on the installation of new pitch drainage and irrigation systems which will culminate in the laying of a new turf outfield. Floodlight installation will be completed over the winter months in time for the new season.

Work that has been carried out over the last few weeks includes the following: external cladding to Edgbaston Road elevation, steelwork erection, floor installation including concreting (all floors), internal and external brick and block wall construction, installation of pre-cast terracing and vomitories.

For the next few weeks the above work will continue with the eastern end increasingly ‘completed’ as Galliford Try move westwards through the site.
