Annual General Meeting Thursday 24th February 2011

There was another excellent turnout for Warwickshire County Cricket Club Annual General Meeting with over 260 members in attendance last night.

The meeting began with the the presentation of the annual Club Awards. Ian Bell won the batting award, which was collected on Belly’s behalf by skipper Jim Troughton. Chris Woakes received the bowling award, accepted in his absence by Ian Westwood, and Neil Carter received the all-rounder award, collected by Darren Maddy.
Stef Piolet took the Most Improved Second XI award.
All the County age-groups for both boys and girls were represented at the ceremony with the youth trophies presented by the Club President, the Rt Hon Earl of Aylesford.
Chairman Norman Gascoigne and Treasurer, Steven Mills, presented a detailed review of the year and accounts to September 2010.
Chief Executive, Colin Povey, led members through a fly-through DVD of the ongoing £32million ground development which he confirmed will be completed in July ahead of the 3rdnpower Test Match against India starting on 10th August. The Chief Executive also praised Birmingham City Council and AWM for their outstanding support for the project.
Club Captain Jim Troughton gave a very upbeat and confident report about the season as well as taking a look ahead to the pre-season tour to Barbados.
