2011 Fixtures released

The ECB have now released the 2011 first-class fixture list.

Warwickshire's opening LV County Championship match of the new season will be against Somerset at Taunton beginning on Thursday April 14th 2011.

The ECB have released the 2011 first-class fixture list with Warwickshire opening the season with a trip to Durham for a three day match against Durham MCCU beginning on Saturday April 9th followed by their first LV County Championship match against Somerset at Taunton on Thursday April 14th.

A visit to New Road against Worcestershire for the second LVCC match the following week precedes the opening CB40 league fixture of the season against Hampshire at the Rosebowl on Easter Sunday, when the Bears begin their defence of the trophy won at Lord's last September.

A busy Easter, sees the Bears return to the north-east, this time for the LVCC match against Durham at the Emirates in Chester-le-Street, beginning on Easter Tuesday, April 26th.

The first match of the seaon at Edgbaston will be on Sunday May 1st, when Leicestershire are the visitors in the CB40, followed by Scotland the following day in the same competition.

The opening four-day home LVCC fixture at Edgbaston will be against Lancashire beginning on Wednesday May 4th with Worcestershire at home in the same competition beginning on May 11th.

The opening T20 matches of the new season take place on Thursday June 2nd and Friday June 3rd, when the Bears are on their travels again, to play Durham and Yorkshire respectively. The first T20 matches of the year at Edgbaston take place on Sunday June 5th against Northamptonshire and then Wednesday June 8th when Nottinghamhsire will be the visitors.

With the new 2011 first-class fixture list now published and with the major ground redevelopment work being completed at Edgbaston during the summer, it's that time of year if you haven't already done it, to take out or renew Annual Membership of Warwickshire County Cricket Club or take advantage of early bookong to secure places for the 5-Day England v India Test Match beginning on Wednesday August 10th or the T20 Finals Day on Saturday August 27th.
